This morning we held the annual St. George's Science Fair and Year 3 did a fantastic job!
Nora's group (carlota, Lucia and Isabella) came in 3rd place with their sizzling hot, explosive volcano. Fantastic effort girls!! It looked very realistic!
Sofi from 3A came in 1st place with her Alka Seltzer light lamp. Really impressive!
A huge well done to all participants and thank you for brightening up our Monday morning!

Haiku Poetry
Whilst looking at poetry this term, we focused on syllables and line lengths, culminating in the writing of some Japanese Haiku poetry. The children then made artistic representations of their nature haiku's using polystyrene foam to make cut out stamps. The result was very visually effective!
Passport Control Role Play
As part of our unit on travel, we set up a passport control role play where the children had characters and had to visit 8 different countries in the process. This is one of many speaking and listening activities we do in class to help develop fluency and the children love taking on different roles and acting out scenarios.
Poetry Pops!
We've been looking at different types of poetry this term and made poetry pops using our acrostic poems based on summer. This really helped us develop our spelling and rhyming skills whilst thinking of new and interesting vocabulary.
